The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has commenced a review of Pacific National's proposed acquisition of intermodal assets from Aurizon (the proposed acquisitions). Further information about the review can be found at the ACCC's public mergers register.

To assist in the review, the ACCC is seeking comments from interested parties and industry participants on any potential competition issues arising from the proposed acquisitions.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) has received correspondence from the ACCC that sets out further information about the proposed acquisitions and the review. The letter also contains a number of questions related to the potential impact on competition arising from the proposed acquisitions. For further detail please click HERE (LOGIN REQUIRED)
