As detailed in DIBP Notice No. 2017/38 all customs broker licences will expire on 30 June 2018

Monday, June 18, 2018

As detailed in DIBP Notice No. 2017/38 all customs broker licences will expire on 30 June 2018. This includes Corporate, Nominee and Sole Trader licences. Current records indicate that there are still a number of licences that have not been renewed.

It is recommended that renewals are paid, associated documentation completed and returned as soon as possible to assist with the process. Ideally all licence renewals should be completed and lodged no later than 22 June, although will be accepted up until 29 June.

A renewal received after 29 June will not be processed, resulting in the licence expiring on 30 June. If your licence expires a new application will be required, this includes an assessment by the National Customs Brokers Licensing Advisory Committee and does take some time to process.

The Client Search function in the ICS can be used to determine if your application has completed processing. Please allow 7 days after sending through your renewal for the ICS to be updated. For corporate licence holders the end date is displayed on the Client Summary screen. For other licence holders searching against your CCID (or name) will display your client record and licence end date. If the End Date is not displaying 30 JUN 2021 then the renewal process has not been completed.

If you have:

- Paid your licence renewal, and

- Returned your completed renewal application, and

- A week has passed since emailing your renewal, then

Contact the Broker Licence Renewal team at: brokerlicencerenewal@homeaffairs.gov.au

Please do not send a query until 7 days has passed since lodging your completed renewal paperwork. On receipt of your query, the team will investigate and endeavour to respond to you within 3 working days.

As you can appreciate there is a considerable workload in the renewal process and the Department encourages all licence holders to complete the renewal process as early as possi le to avoid and problems on 1 July 2018. Ideally all licence renewals should be completed and lodged no later than 22 June 2018.
