Maersk Tasman Star – RHL Aurora update
Update 2 (14 June) Vessel incident on Tasman Star Voyage 1813: RHL Aurora
DearCustomer,
The RHL Aurora is expected to begin repairs this weekend. Based on the latest information, the estimated new departure date from Melbourne is 27th June. All cargo on the RHL Aurora is expected to remain on board until repairs have been completed and the vessel is seaworthy to continue her journey. We will notify all remaining customers as soon as more information becomes available and a contingency is confirmed.
Please be advised that in order to recover these delays, the RHL Aurora voyages 1814 and 1815 will be cancelled; please refer to the below table for the impacted port calls. Bookings that already have been confirmed on the RHL Aurora voyages 1814 and 1815, will be transferred to alternative services. Our Customer Services Team will be liaising directly with customers who have shipments affected by this incident.

Maersk switches Napier calls
Dear Customer,
As part of ongoing efforts to optimise our network, we will be adding the port of Napier to our Southern Star service from week 28 with the first arrival into Napier scheduled for 12 July 2018. From this date, our Northern Star service will no longer be calling the port of Napier.
The port rotations on our Northern and Southern Star services will be following:
- Northern Star: Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Sydney – Nelson – Wellington – Timaru – Tauranga – Auckland – Tanjung Pelepas
- Southern Star: Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Brisbane – Tauranga – Napier – Lyttelton – Port Chalmers – Tanjung Pelepas
The new port rotation is effective from following vessels:
- The Southern Star call into Napier for both imports and exports will start with the Leda Maersk 861S / 861N scheduled for arrival into Napier on 12 July 2018
- The last Northern Star vessel to call the port of Napier will be the Jeppesen Maersk 846S / 846N scheduled for arrival into Napier on 6 July 2018
The schedule changes will naturally mean some adjustments to the timing of our port calls and transit times, though we have done our utmost to minimise changes to our current offering.
NAPIER - SOUTH EAST ASIA + Onward destinations
- Napier Export cargo connecting to our services in Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore that normally travel on the Northern star, will instead be routed via Southern Star
- Import cargo to Napier will be arriving on Southern Star service instead of Northern Star service
There will be minor adjustments for Napier and Tauranga cut-offs:
