Maersk – Booking Policy Changes

Booking Policy Changes to improve your invoice accuracy and booking experience

Dear customer,
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve invoice quality and make your overall shipping experience with Maersk a positive one, we are making some changes to help streamline the booking process.
The changes involve quality control checks on the following Critical Booking Fields:

  • Price owner
  • Contract number
  • Commodity*
  • Named account (if applicable)

OR

  • Specified product unavailable

Thereafter, amendments to Critical Booking Fields will no longer be allowed after pickup of the first container.

We will introduce the process in two phases:
Phase 1: 18th June – 15th July

Maersk Line will perform additional checks to identify any discrepancies between Critical Booking Fields and your contracted information.  We will reach out to you to clarify the required information.

Phase 2: 16th July onwards

No amendments allowed to Critical Booking Fields after first empty container has been picked up.
* Please note regarding amendments to commodity: Commodity Code will not be changed, instead we will allow a modification to the description on the Bill of Lading to ensure customs compliance.
Introducing quality checks will help to ensure that your booking is accurate and matches the information we have on record as per your contract.  The goal for bookings is to get it right first time and avoid potential incorrect freight rates.
During the implementation period, we will continue to guide you through these changes, to ensure a smooth transition to this new process by 16th July 2018.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your usual Maersk Line representative, or alternatively you can reach our local customer service department via our
website.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to delivering an improved invoicing experience.
