The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources last night released notice119-2018 - Changes to import conditions for pig meat and goods containing or potentially contaminated with pig material sourced from Belgium.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) understand that there was some misunderstanding within the department regarding this notice and some shipments were held pending resolution.

Subsequently FTA has received advice that departmental staff have been instructed that goods that do not contain porcine material from Belgium will now be cleared using normal processes and that all held entries that do not contain porcine to be processed as normal.

SESSIONS

Departmental and FTA representatives will also be delivering a dedicated session on Biosecurity Reforms at our upcoming CPD - Border and Biosecurity Compliance Program events - these sessions will examine the season's initial implementation, compliance and operational matters.
