Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) representatives continue to work with senior delegates within Department of Agriculture and Water resources (DAWR) and affected sectors of commerce.

A further BMSB detection: MV Titus Voyage C0836

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean has advised that:

"MV Titus, Voyage CO836, was due to arrive at its first Australian port on 5th November.  During
routine inspections on board dead and live bugs were found.  These findings were reported to the
Australian Government - Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR).
WW Ocean have since worked closely with the DAWR to identify the type of bug.  It was
subsequently determined that a portion of these were BMSB."

 
Thursday 8 November 2018 the planned fogging was completed and MV Titus has subsequently received

LCL/FAK Container Management update - End of Interim process for the management of LCL/FAK containers from Thursday 8 November 2018

DAWR updated their website on 9 November, the changes are as follows:

  • Further information on the end of the interim process can be found though Industry Advice Notice 160-2018 published on 5 November 2018.

  • Update to Consignment level reporting requirements for Master Consolidators and Brokers

  • Updated contact information details for department regarding assessment and processing of LCL/FAK containers and for other import document assessment and clearance/release times

  • New declaration templates for Master Consolidators to use for the LCL/FAK containers process  

You must comply with seasonal measures for certain goods arriving from certain countries that are shipped as sea cargo to Australia between 1 September 2018 and 30 April 2019 inclusive.
