Port of Brisbane is progressing its 'Innovate' Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – it's second RAP and the second stage of Reconciliation Australia's formal RAP program.

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) CEO, Neil Stephens, said the Port's Innovate RAP was an important next step in its reconciliation journey.

"I'm very proud to share our Innovate RAP, which has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and our Board.  It was developed with input from employees across our business and we deeply appreciate and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who provided their time, knowledge and perspectives throughout its development.

"I'm also delighted to again acknowledge and thank Quandamooka woman and artist Shara Delaney, who designed the artwork for our Innovate RAP, 'Galonpin – Quandamookajara'.

"Our Innovate RAP consolidates what we achieved during our first, 'Reflect' RAP and it will continue to guide our actions and initiatives," said Mr Stephens.

"We're committed to continuing to strengthen our existing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations and look forward to establishing ones.

"Our Innovate RAP is focused on how we can continue to influence and positively contribute to the reconciliation journey within in our community, as well investing responsibly in projects and partnerships that enable and empower local communities.

"It is our genuine hope that our RAP will deliver positive initiatives that result in meaningful and tangible outcomes for First Nations people.

"We're excited and optimistic about the opportunities ahead to continue engaging with our employees and our stakeholders on our journey."
