The Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) and Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) have been advised that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has been conducting a review of Pacific National's proposed acquisitions of Aurizon's intermodal assets.
The ACCC has published a Statement of Issues outlining preliminary competition concerns in relation to the proposed acquisitions, and a draft proposed s 87B undertaking offered by Pacific National in relation to the Acacia Ridge Terminal. The ACCC is now inviting submissions on its Statement of Issues and the proposed s 87B undertaking, by 3 April 2018.
The proposed date for the ACCC's final decision is 24 May 2018.
