Policy Update - Sea Cargo Reporting / Delivery Address

Monday, January 6, 2020
Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has responded to items raised in the Australian Border Force (ABF) Goods Compliance Update for December 2019 - available HERE

SEA CARGO REPORTING

A change to cargo reporting requirements is to clarify that the "original loading port code" should be the transshipment port, which may not be the same as the loading port shown on the Full Import Declaration (FID) . FTA is continuing engagement with the ABF on this matter noting that this is a change from the current instructions in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) Manual for Sea Cargo Reports. FTA is seeking clarification whether the direction re Original Loading Port in the Compliance Update will be corrected OR whether the Manuals will be updated.

DELIVERY ADDRESS

Following intervention from FTA, the ABF have clarified that there has not been a change in policy in relation to delivery addresses on FIDs. In cases where, post importation,  a single consignment is to be delivered to multiple customers/addresses of the importer, the importer location or a logistics provider warehouse may continue to be reported as the delivery address. FTA have requested that ABF amend the advice in the December Compliance Update .
