Hutchison Port Botany Infrastructure Surcharge increase

Effective tomorrow, Tuesday 8 September 2020, Hutchison Port Botany's Infrastructure Surcharge increases from $63.11 to $88.83 per container (excl GST).

ADVOCACY TO THE NSW GOVERNMENT

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) note correspondence from the Hon Andrew Constance MP Minister for Transport and Roads dated 15 June 2020 whereby the Minister recognised the impact caused by Port Botany stevedores applying infrastructure surcharges and compounding impacts particularly during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn - refer HERE

FTA / APSA have since engaged with executives from Transport for NSW and understand that the NSW Productivity Commissioner has completed a report to the Minister's office. FTA / APSA wrote to the Minister again on 1 September 2020 requesting an opportunity for ongoing engagement in setting this important policy and associated reform - refer HERE
