THE WEEK IN REVIEW
SYDNEY - our media release from last Friday outlines congestion, costs and operational impacts (including the fact that vessels are no longer calling Sydney / Maersk suspending bookings). Some relief was welcomed on Saturday with the announcement that DP World will no longer be subject to industrial action at Port Botany for an interim period (up until 1 November 2020) meanwhile Patrick have reported ongoing difficulties with delays of to 12 - 14 days.
SUPPORTING TRADE THROUGH THE PORT BOTANY CRISIS
Arrow Transport has swung into action to help importers, exporters and freight forwarders avoid the current problems at the terminals and empty parks in Sydney with their new daily MEL-SYD-MEL 'Arrow Container Shuttle'

MELBOURNE - Stage 4 restrictions continue with no immediate relief on the mandated reduction of warehouse staff. We continue to engage with Freight Victoria and will be escalating advocacy activity highlighting the fact that peak demand is approaching, safety concerns and the need to deconsolidate Sydney cargo arriving in Melbourne for transport to Sydney.
