COVID-19 Freight Industry Public Health Advice

Thursday, June 24, 2021

Dear Freight Industry

Due to the growing risk to the community, the  Public Health (COVID-19 Greater Sydney) Order (No 2) 2021 commenced on Wednesday 23 June 2021 at 6:20pm. The Order will finish on Thursday 1 July 2021 at 12:01am.

The Order applies to Greater Sydney including the Central Coast, Shellharbour and the City of Wollongong Local Government Areas.

A number of the primary restrictions likely to impact freight operators are as follows:

·         Restrictions on travelling outside Greater Sydney if you have lived or worked in particular local government areas. There is an exemption to this requirement if you are travelling for the purpose of work which includes transporting freight.

·         Return to the one person per 4sqm rule (exemptions remain for certain commercial vessels).

·         Requirements to wear fitted face coverings in indoor areas of non-residential premises. This includes vehicles, including road and rail freight vehicles, if you are travelling in those vehicles with others who are not members of your household.

The situation and advice is changing frequently.  Please monitor the NSW Government website for the most up to date advice.  For testing sites near you visit the NSW Health website.
