Melbourne CPD - another record turn out

Fantastic to see over 150 industry members participate in the CPD events in Melbourne last Friday & Saturday. As always an informative presentation by Lee Cale ( pictured above ) from The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. There is also a lot going on in the trade liberalisation space so the updates on current and upcoming free trade agreements were well received. The issues around Licensed Premise & Approved Arrangement Compliance and potential reforms to broker licences were particularly eye opening.  Martin Mosely from ABF delivered a fascinating presentation on International Supply Chain Security

Great to see the ladies from AAW Global Logistics Pty Ltd supporting the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) bucket hats

Australia - UK Free Trade Agreement (commentary from CGT Law)

The Australia UK FTA will commence on 31 May 2023. For imports to Australia it will apply to goods imported after this date and goods imported before this date where the date for determining customs duty has not yet passed. This means goods that have landed in Australia but an import declaration is yet to be lodged. For UK goods arriving over the next few weeks importers should assess whether it is better to delay clearance and pay storage and enter the goods duty free from 31 May. READ MORE
