2023 Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC)

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) has issued Industry Advice Notice 122/2023 with key dates and information for the 2023-24 Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC).

The CBC pre-recorded webinar will be made available on the department's Learnhub platform from Wednesday 6 September 2023 and must be completed by Wednesday 18 October 2023.


It is essential that you access the department's Learnhub and complete the topic "Introduction to Learnhub" before September's scheduled activity.

DAFF increase to Full Import Declaration charges - 1 July 2023

A reminder to members that the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) is increasing their Full Import Declaration (FID) charges for goods arriving in Australia by air and sea from 1 July 2023. - READ MORE


 

Biosecurity Amendment (Advanced Compliance Measures) Bill 2023 [Provisions] - Call for Submissions

The committee looking into the above Amendment Bill has invited Freight & Trade Alliance to make a submission addressing all or some of the provisions in the Bill by COB 7 July. If members wish to have their commentary included in the FTA submission, please ensure they are sent to Sal Milici by COB Tuesday 4 July. - READ MORE

Key dates and information for the 2023-24 Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) period

Key dates for the Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) 2023-24 period have now been published on the CBC activities webpage.

The CBC webinar activity for this period will be pre-recorded and made available on the Learnhub platform from Wednesday, 6 September 2023. As a result of these changes, there will no longer be a requirement to register your attendance for the event. Accredited persons must ensure that they have set up and logged into their Learnhub account. It is recommended that accredited persons also complete the 'Introduction to Learnhub' training prior to accessing the CBC activity. READ MORE

Proposed AICIS fees and charges for 2023-24

The Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 establishes AICIS as the regulatory scheme for the importation and manufacture (introduction) of industrial chemicals in Australia. This Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) provides information on how the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) will implement cost recovery for its regulatory activities in 2023-24. READ MORE
