It was an (extra) big week at FTA / APSA
Started off in Brisbane with Sal Milici and Paul Zalai presenting at the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) workshop on sea containers. Mid-week the FTA team convened in Sydney for a day of face-to-face strategy meetings. Friday night the whole team blew off some steam, caught up with friends old and new and raised plenty of $$$ for a number of vital causes at the 2023 Care-Factor Industry Charity Trade Ball.

Are the documents you receive the REAL THING

FTA have been made aware by a number of members that there seems to be an increase in requests for documents for validation by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Falsified documents are an ongoing issue for both the industry and the department. To assist you may wish to do a refresher due diligence check or sign up for the Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre newsletter.

Falsified documents are becoming increasingly more sophisticated and require very diligent validation. Obviously the Department are not able to share the features they look for when confirming a documents authenticity as this information could then be used to produce documents that are harder to identify as fraudulent/falsified.

Maybe just some messaging to your clients on the importance of using reputable suppliers and supply chains.
