Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received notice from Poseidon Sea Pilots (PSP) late this evening that the Protected Industrial Action Notice proposed for 0001 AEST on Thursday 24 August 2023 for 24 hours has been formally withdrawn by the Australian Maritime Officers Union (AMOU).The withdrawal comes after eleventh hour negotiations were held throughout the day on Tuesday 22 August.There is yet to be any formal announcement of agreement having been reached beyond the withdrawal of industrial action, however Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) applauds the parties involved for their dedication to resolving conflicts through dialogue and negotiation, thereby avoiding the disruptive consequences of industrial action.
