ABC News - UK and US shoot down more Houthi drones in the Red Sea as shipping companies pause operations

Sunday, December 17, 2023
As showcased in last week's Australian Financial Review and The Guardian, Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) continue to lead our industry's media coverage with no end in sight of the ongoing Protected Industrial Action (PIA) affecting national operations at DP World container terminals.

FTA / APSA yesterday (Sunday 17 December 2023) prepared a media release referencing the ongoing PIA and made extensive reference to the attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea as reported in Saturday's member notice.

As a result of the above activity, I was privileged yesterday to have a 6min:6sec live interview with ABC's Miriam Corowa in the story UK and US shoot down more Houthi drones in the Red Sea as shipping companies pause operations

Another reminder that while we have an excellent relationship with a wide cross-section of trade, agriculture and mainstream media, we need of "real life" experiences highlighting the impacts to business and the wider economy - this is essential to maintain the momentum and interest for what appears will be a long, drawn out campaign.
