2024-2025 FTA ONLINE CPD & CBC TRAINING PACKAGES
FTA offers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) training
online
for the customs broker licencing period 1 April to 31 March each year. The cost of an online training package is $150 (excl. gst) for member organisations with bulk discounts available on a sliding scale.
Licensed customs brokers
not
employed by a corporate FTA member, can purchase an Individual Membership which includes online CPD & CBC training for the cost of only $300 (excl. gst) per customs broker licensing period.
FTA LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE TRAINING PLATFORM - "MYFTACPD"
FTA is delighted to announce the new training platform "MYFTACPD" is now LIVE.
The upgraded platform provides:
the removal of the need for promotional codes with personal profile libraries automatically populated with current course content through the customs broker licensing period
high quality training content and resources;
secure and easy to use 'self-service' login functionality;
migration of previous history from the legacy system allowing licensed customs brokers to access their online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Attainment Statements for the current and previous periods;

DP World Fremantle - Weigh in Motion
DP World Fremantle have advised customers they will Go-live with a Weigh in Motion (WIM) system from Monday 8th July as part of its Chain of Responsibility compliance. As communicated via an Industry notice back in January 2024, a WIM charge will be applicable to all Full Import containers delivered by Road and will be effective from Monday, 1 August 2024. The WIM Fee effective 1 August 2024 will be: $14.80 plus GST per Full Import Container delivered by Road.

The Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) is the designated peak shipper body granted status by the Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport under Part X of the Consumer & Competition Act to represent the interests of Australian shippers generally in relation to liner cargo shipping services. Approved arrangement class 19 access to eCertificates via EVE
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) have advised of changes to enable faster document assessment clearance times. External Verification for eCerts (EVE) is a new digital service that will enable approved arrangement class 19 accredited persons to view electronic government certificates (eCertificates) as part of document assessment activities. This system improvement advances the department's commitment to adopt paperless import clearance processes and compliance to international standards.
