National Biosecurity Strategy Action Plan

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) is a member of the National Biosecurity Strategy (NBS) Implementation Committee (NIC) and its working group contributing to the plan.

Key outcomes:

  • The NBS provides a 10-year roadmap for Australia's biosecurity system. A national approach is critical in developing a shared purpose to ensure Australia's biosecurity system remains strong in a constantly changing and increasingly complex global environment.
  • Australia's first NBS Action Plan (Action Plan) outlines the initial 52 activities that will be delivered between 2024 and 2026 as part of the NBS.
    • There will be future Action Plans to deliver the NBS.
  • The Action Plan has been released for public consultation (closing at 15 August 2024) in order to progress finalising the Action Plan.
Your voice is important, and we encourage you to Have Your Say here: Future actions for the National Biosecurity Strategy
