Christmas & New Year Operating Hours
as at 3 December 2024
Freight & Trade Alliance have been collating data from various sources in relation to operating hours for service providers and government agencies over the coming Christmas / New Year period. The information can be seen at the below link, however we remind all members to stay alert to notices from Containerchain and OneStop as well as monitoring the various web sites for changes to what has already been received. This list will be updated as more information comes to hand.

2024-2025 FTA ONLINE CPD & CBC TRAINING PACKAGES
FTA offers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) training
online
for the customs broker licencing period 1 April to 31 March each year. The cost of an online training package is $150 (excl. gst) for member organisations with bulk discounts available on a sliding scale.
Licensed customs brokers
not
employed by a corporate FTA member, can purchase an Individual Membership which includes online CPD & CBC training for the cost of only $300 (excl. gst) per customs broker licensing period.

The DAFF Mandatory CBC Activity
will go live on
17 February 2025
on the Department's
Learnhub
site. The assessment will be automatically made available on the FTA training platform "MYFTACPD" under the 'Active" filter for FTA members that attended a 2024 CPD Border Compliance Program (complimentary) or for those that have purchased an online training package for the period ending 31 March 2025. You will be sent an email when the assessment has been uploaded for completion. The Assessment must be completed by
Monday 17 March 2025.

Following a recent outage to the above systems,

reached out to Wisetech Global for advice. Wisetech have advised that they have worked very hard to develop a proactive Service Outage web portal, and processes that actively advise customers of any known outages, and keep them updated hourly.
This is the best avenue for members
to get the most up-to-date information on any wide spread outages and/or logging their own eRequest about any outage. Members can subscribe to receive Service Issues Notifications, and they will receive automated emails, which Wisetech endeavour to update hourly, until issues are resolved.

Maersk - Import Control System 2 (ICS2) release 3 Operational Guidelines # 2
Maersk are pleased to inform industry they have successfully onboarded and completed the mandatory Phase 1 requirements on ICS1. All the Advance Manifest Declaration under ICS2 Phase 1 are being made to the Single Trader Interface System of European Customs Commission.
Maersk would now like to share an update on the upcoming Phase 2 Release under ICS2 regulations.

Qantas address Sydney terminal backlogs
FTA/APSA last week met with Qantas Freight senior management to address the issues. Qantas Freight have confirmed that they have been experiencing backlogs for the past few weeks largely as a result of higher-than-anticipated volumes during the peak season, compounded by internal technical challenges and scheduling difficulties.
