FTA / APSA - PERSONNEL

SUE DANKS

As members will recall, Sue joined FTA in November 2019 in what was then a newly created contractor role titled Head of Customs and Regulatory Compliance.

Sue's highly regarded trade compliance specialist skills and long-term industry association experience has been valuable in the delivery of CPD content, supporting member enquiries and representation on government committees.

Going forward, we look forward to ongoing engagement with Sue as she focusses on her existing consultancy business (Susan Danks Tariff Consulting) and work as a trainer and lead content writer for the WiseTech Academy.
As with all growing and successful organisations, contingency and succession planning is critical. We look forward to revealing more detail in coming weeks of developments at FTA.

In the interim, a reminder for all members requiring operational support to contact FTA at support@FTAlliance.com.au

Where: Ballroom, Yarraville Club, 135 Stephen Street, Yarraville (ample free carparking adjacent to the Club)

Inspiring the Next Generation of Logistics Professionals

Tom Jensen, Head of International Freight & Logistics - FTA recently had the privilege of presenting to two groups of students from St Patrick's College, Shorncliffe QLD, introducing them to the exciting career opportunities as freight forwarders and customs brokers.

A big thank you to Nicola Murray and Edward Harwood from Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd for the opportunity to present as part of the tour program.

With only 12.2% of customs brokers under the age of 30, it's clear we need to do more to attract young professionals into these critical roles. The logistics sector offers diverse career pathways with global opportunities, and it was fantastic to see such strong interest—an overwhelming 98% of students said they would now consider a career as a freight forwarder or customs broker following the presentation!
