FTA & CTAA Host Industry Seminar on Fremantle Traffic Bridge Closure

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and Container Transport Alliance Australia (CTAA) welcomed a strong turnout of just under 100 members, industry representatives, and government stakeholders at an informative seminar held last week in Fremantle.

The session focused on one of Fremantle's most significant future challenges – the 12-month closure of the Fremantle Traffic Bridge, scheduled to commence in early 2026. As part of the forum, Amanda Bradfield, Head of International Freight & Logistics - FTA | APSA,  has put together a congestion guide which will be shared with members shortly. This will be useful info not just for your operational staff and transport providers, but also a good communication tool for your clients to make them aware of the issues and possible arrangements that can be put in place to minimise the impact  READ MORE

DE MINIMIS REMOVED:
LESSONS FROM THE US FOR AUSTRALIA

In the lead up to last week's removal of the low value di minimis in the United States, Kai Lincoln, Director - Aggregate Co wrote a compelling article in Across Borders (Annual Review 2025 - pages 52 & 53) titled 'How Trump has Triggered a Paradigm Shift for Australian E-commerce'.

Picking up on the main themes of this article, Paul Zalai, Director - Freight & Trade Alliance,(FTA) was fortunate to again partner with Kai in an interview by international media organisation Viory - recording available HERE (duration 5mins 41sec).

FTA will continue to lead advocacy for broader cost recovery reform. Our goal is to minimise cross-subsidisation of charges, deliver fairer and more transparent charging mechanisms, and create strong incentives for businesses to adopt best practices in reporting and supply chain integrity.
