"Whether you're an ACFS customer or not, keeping their empty container parks open is essential. If they shut, other facilities could quickly reach capacity, creating gridlock at major ports," said Paul Zalai, co-founder of the Freight and Trade Alliance, an industry body.
"The pandemic demonstrated the severe consequences when empty container parks reach capacity — containers are handled multiple times, truck queues escalate, port operations become congested and disruptions ripple across the entire supply chain," he said.
