ACCC review: PrixCar Services proposed acquisition of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Australia

Tuesday, November 28, 2017

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received formal advice that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is currently reviewing PrixCar Services' proposed acquisition of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Australia.

The ACCC is seeking comments from interested parties to assist with our review of the proposed acquisition. The legal test which the ACCC applies is in section 50 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, which prohibits mergers and acquisitions that are likely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.

FTA has received a market inquiries letter that outlines key issues that the ACCC are seeking to address – available here.

The ACCC welcome any other comments or information regarding the proposed acquisition's effect on competition and have requested comments and written submissions by close of business Monday 11 December 2017. We also encourage members to share their views for incorporation into the FTA submission by sending comments to pzalai@FTAlliance.com.au

Further information about the ACCC's review is available here.
