Later this year I will be joining 12 Menzies Aviation Managers from around the world visiting London for 10 days. We will be supporting a community organisation, making a lasting impact and contribution to their work whilst learning about the country, communities and culture they are working within.
The community organisation - called Bike Works - is a social enterprise / registered charity based in Hackney, East London.
We will undertake a testing cycling challenge during the week to raise money for the UK's first mobile All Ability Cycling Clubs Service. Open to anyone, the service will provide cycling opportunities for people from marginalised communities and people with physical and learning disabilities in their localities across London.
During the week we will connect with potential community users and raise the profile of the service ahead of its launch.
The team is aiming to raise funds for a new van as well as specialised bikes and equipment whilst also covering the first year's operational costs.
I've set myself a personal goal to raise £2000 and am reaching out to friends, families, colleagues and business associates for your generosity and support. Whatever you can spare would be truly appreciated.
To donate to this cause please follow this link and ensure you mention my name when donating so I can keep track of my personal target. https://altruja.de/menzies-london
