VICT Industrial Action Update

Thursday, November 30, 2017

MUA industrial action at the Victorian International Container Terminal (VICT) is ongoing.

We are pleased to report that VICT has confirmed that they will not be charging cargo owners storage fees for the extended time that cargo is sitting in the terminal.

VICT has also advised that there are approximately 30 import containers onboard the Glasgow which still require discharging and 477 import containers are in their yard awaiting collection. There is also a small contingency of long-stay containers in the yard from the previous vessel visit on 19th November.

Vessel calls in the meantime have been sub-contracted to Patricks.

As we enter peak season FTA/APSA calls for the MOU to immediately desist from this illegal industrial action and to pursue any unfair dismissal concerns through the appropriate legal avenues.
