Saturday, December 2, 2017

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received advice that late yesterday, Friday 1 December 2017, Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) won an injunction against the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) for the illegal picket outside their Webb Dock East terminal gates.

Despite this injunction, as at 7:00 AEDT today, the protest and blockage remains at the VICT entrance.

VICT have stated that they will attempt to open their gates today in an aim to resume business as usual.

As outlined in our member notice issued on Thursday 30 November 2017, no storage charges will be applied to containers for the duration that cargo is at the terminal due to this illegal picket.

VICT have advised industry to monitor 1-Stop notifications for any developments.

FTA / APSA will also continue to monitor the situation and will post updated information at www.FTAlliance.com.au
