Issues with invoices being issued for Imported Cargo (AIMS)

Friday, July 27, 2018

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received concerns from members experiencing some delays with the generation of invoices from the Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS) since 4 July 2018.

FTA has today received advice from the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources that they expect to resolve the issue by Tuesday 31 July 2018.

Once resolved, importers and customs brokers will receive a tax invoice/receipt that outlines all invoiced charges and payments for finalised entries. This initial tax invoice/receipt will cover two weeks of charges.

The look of the tax invoice/receipt will also change to include information previously included as an attachment.

The department has expressed appreciation for importers and customs brokers' patience with this issue and has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

We understand that further details will be provided in an Industry Advice Notice to be published on Monday 30 July.
