THE GROWTH OF THE ALLIANCE

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) are proud to have been the leading voice on key industry issues over the last 12 months, including the Department of Agriculture's response to the Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) measures and addressing spiralling domestic transport costs relating to infrastructure surcharges.

In 2019/2020, with a number of new and emerging threats for the international trade sector, FTA / APSA will continue to protect the interests of Australia's cargo owners and logistics service providers.


Importantly, the strength of the alliance is largely dependent on demonstrating membership growth.

We are delighted to advise that we welcomed in excess of 100 new members in 2018/2019, including major cargo owners such as the Wesfarmers Group, IKEA, Ixom, Costco, the Australian Meat Industry Council and Coca-Cola Amatil.

Renewal notices are to be disseminated next week.

EXPANDED CPD & CBC TRAINING PROGRAM

Our 2020/2021 CPD & CBC - Border & Biosecurity Compliance Program will continue to provide attendees with 24 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and will be complimented by Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) Activities, webinars and forums.

We are also delighted to advise that our 2020/2021 program has now expanded to include Perth. 

While continuing our popular week-day events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, we will also do a Saturday event (repeating the mid-week content) in Sydney and Melbourne. This is response to member requests to support operational staff that have unavoidable mid-week commitments.
