Containerchain Rebuilt Notification Application to Launch Across Australia on 1 August 2019

Containerchain has confirmed that it will be launching its redesigned and rebuilt Notification application across Australia on 1 August 2019.

The Containerchain Notification system is used everyday by transport operators to notify truck arrivals by time zone into over 40 empty container depots across the ports of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle.

The new application will feature:
  • A new tablet friendly User Interface, including a Transporter Dashboard showing daily notifications, and capacity across all facilities in each port

  • A streamlined booking process allowing for the booking of multiple containers, and greater visibility of available capacity and fees

  • Enhanced editing of booked notifications including editing the container number in a valid Notification
Webinars and Familiarisation:

CTAA welcomes these developments, as container transport companies and empty container depot operators have been seeking this greater functionality for some time.

For instance, the ability to amend the container number in a valid import de-hire Notification, and to book multiple containers in the one screen, will really save time and effort by busy fleet allocators across Australia.

CTAA will be working collaboratively with Containerchain to ensure that the implementation of the new functionality is understood by all parties in the supply chain ahead of 1 August, and beyond.

In the first instance, Containerchain has organised a
Free Webinar to explain the new functionality in detail:

Webinar: 12 noon, Tuesday, 16 July 2019 - to book go to: https://containerchain.clickmeeting.com/notifications-2-0-rollout-to-australia/register

We'd urge all interested parties to participate in this Webinar.

If you are not available on Tuesday, 16 July, there will be more opportunities (to be announced) to help you familiarise yourself and your staff / colleagues

Separately, CTAA, in collaboration with Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA), will be organising forums in August ahead of this year's peak container volume season, at which the management of empty containers will be a key focus.

More details will follow on these forums.
