BEST WISHES TO TRAVIS BROOKS-GARRETT

Friday, August 23, 2019

I would like to advise that Travis Brooks-Garrett has accepted a new role as General Manager – Cargo Partnerships with DP World Logistics Australia effective from October 2019.

Since commencing with Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) in 2015, Travis has played an important role in FTA's rapid growth, policy development and structure.

Travis also led our formal Secretariat role with the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) since January 2017, re-building a strong exporter focussed membership, deepening our involvement in shipping and logistics issues, and culminating in our election to the Global Shippers Forum (GSF) board in 2018.

RESTRUCTURE

FTA – Caroline Zalai and I as co-founders return to being FTA's sole Directors.

In addition to our existing high calibre team, we will continue to bring on more outstanding trade professional resources to ensure continuation as Australia's leading international logistics advocacy body.

APSA – commencing 7 October 2019, I will take over the primary Secretariat responsibilities reporting to the APSA Officers and Committee of Management.

Andrew Crawford will commence in a newly created role as Head of Trade and Policy focussing on importer / exporter advocacy and member support, including Part X of the Consumer & Competition Act negotiations with shipping line Conferences, Discussion Agreements and major consortia.

MOVING ON

Aside from being a dedicated, highly intelligent and trusted business partner, Travis has been and will continue to be a true friend to Caroline, myself and the FTA team.

We wish Travis all the very best for the future.

FTA / APSA will continue to build on the foundation that we have collectively established to support the international trade and freight logistics sectors in the years ahead.
