Freight and Trade Alliance (FTA) in our regular dialogue with the Department of Agriculture ( the department) have been requesting that more detailed information around the BMSB season and particularly the operational and treatment issues are provided to industry by way of the web site.

In this way members will both have a reference point before having to make phone calls as well as material they can supply to clients and overseas agents for their understanding of the departments requirements.

Treatment - The department has published a series of factsheets to provide further guidance on conducting effective and compliant BMSB treatments. The factsheets are available on the Guidance for conducting BMSB Treatments webpage

When your goods arrive
The above link provides some useful tabs for information on what happens to you goods on arrival during the 2019-20 BMSB season. These may save you the need for a phone call or email - some of immediate interest are

* booking an inspection
* emerging risk countries for 2019-20 season
* will the department be conducting random verification inspections this season
