THE WEEK IN REVIEW
SYDNEY - our correspondence of 23 September 2020 to Michael Jovicic, CEO Patrick Terminals, outlining the concerns of Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) members with regard to the Sydney waterfront issues appears to have borne some fruit.

FTA / APSA welcomed the announcement ,yesterday 28 September 2020, by Patrick terminals that they had lodged an application for the Fair Work Commission (FWC) to intervene in regard to the union actions that are crippling Port Botany and impacting on their terminals nationally.

We trust that the FWC will take immediate and positive action to enable the gateways for the Australian economy to remain fully open and operational to ensure our importers / exporters have access to their respective markets to enable them to meet their contractual agreements.
SUPPORTING TRADE THROUGH THE PORT BOTANY CRISIS
Arrow Transport has swung into action to help importers, exporters and freight forwarders avoid the current problems at the terminals and empty parks in Sydney with their new daily MEL-SYD-MEL 'Arrow Container Shuttle'

SAFE CONTAINER LOADING PRACTICES & HEAVY VEHICLE SAFETY
NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto said the online course and associated resources, including a Safe Container Packing Checklist, would contribute to reducing the risks of load shifts, road accidents and breaches of mass limits.
