The three Hapag-Lloyd ships that transited the Suez Canal yesterday have commenced sea passage. Today around 35 vessels are expected to pass the canal, among them our vessels "Laila" and "Athenian". They will leave the canal this evening around 8.00 PM local time.

At the moment still 355 vessels are waiting to pass the canal within the next days, including the following four vessels of Hapag-Lloyd:

  • "Al Rawdah" Voy 1204, DP 261750 (IOS Service westbound)
  • "New York Express" Voy 041E, DP 264927 (MD1 eastbound)
  • "Warnow Master" Voy 2100N, DP 269757 (FE4 westbound)
  • "Tokyo Bay" Voy 2108E, DP 262705 (IEX Port Said eastbound)

Exact ETA of our affected vessels is still under evaluation. We are doing our utmost to optimize the rotations in order to minimize potential bottlenecks at ports and terminals. Any additional operational measures will be communicated in due time.

Our teams are tirelessly working 24/7 to keep the impact on our customers as low as possible. We will keep you regularly updated about the further developments. You can also find updated information on our website.

It is still expected that the backlog in Suez Canal will be cleared until this weekend.
