On 6 April 2021, the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment launched Australia's Services Exports Action Plan – a Government and industry strategy to boost services exports.

Australia is a world-class provider of services. The services sector employs more than four out of five Australians and accounts for nearly three-quarters of Australia's GDP. The Action Plan recognises the potential for growth in Australian services exports. It outlines immediate actions to help our economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and long-term goals for strengthening the competitiveness of Australian service suppliers into the future.
