MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company wishes to advise that Australian Port Authorities require a 6-digit Harmonised (HS) code to be reported for all exports, imports and transhipments.
For Australian exports, please ensure you provide 6-digit HS code at booking stage in order to ensure your booking is accepted and processed. Please also ensure the HS code is provided on on all shipping instructions.
For any Australian imports or transhipments through Australia, please ensure shippers are aware of the requirement and provides the 6-digit HS code to the relevant load port agency.
