ANL - Documentation Requirements for Papua New Guinea

Please be reminded of the mandatory requirements for cargo to Papua New Guinea (PNG).


Import:All cargoes to Papua New Guinea must have a valid locally registered consignee and notify party with a local full style address/phone number/email address and person to be contacted.


Local Registration, validity and scope can be verified online at https://www.ipa.gov.pg/do-it-online/ - this is free of charge.


Straight BL – CNEE must be the importer and have a registered Local Business Registration. The validity and scope can be verified online at https://www.ipa.gov.pg/ - this is free of charge.


BL To order – Notify Party must be the importer and have registered with a Local Business Registration. The validity and scope can be verified online at https://www.ipa.gov.pg/ is free of charge. The Consignee's Customs Agent must be stated as the second Notify Party.

For shipments of Personal effects, consigned via a Freight Forwarder the PNG Freight Forwarder must be stated as the Consignee with full style address, registered with the IPA, services stated in the IPA to include Customs Brokerage.


Further, we kindly request that all Shipping Instructions are submitted within the below time frames based on vessel departures dates for all bookings to PNG loading in Brisbane and Townsville.


Adhering to these time frames allows all required documentation and manifests to be submitted to PNG customs within the required time frames.
