Dear Valued Customers,

We foresee that the global shipping industry will continue to be heavily influenced by a series of

extraordinary factors that are adversely impacting cost structures and which are projected to remain

with us for a prolonged period.

A surge in global demand as the world slowly returns to normal after a period of uncertainty related

to the presence of Covid-19 has intensified pressure on vessel space and costs to access these

services. Compounding this is the global shortage of shipping containers, which reduces the

efficiencies available during regular operating conditions, and furthermore, widespread port

congestion is further exacerbating the tightness of network capacity.

These factors are impacting our ability to sustainably serve the markets in which we operate

without negatively impacting our offer both in terms of market coverage and service frequency.

Swire Shipping is committed to maintaining the highest level of service in our core trading

regions and therefore will be introducing a General Rate Increase to ensure we can continue

to provide the greatest reliability and long-term sustainability of these services.

Trade Lanes Impacted
Australia to New Zealand
New Zealand to Australia
General Rate Increase Level

will become applicable for any shipment with a Bill of Lading date of June 17th or later.
