Beware of scammers who may be impersonating the ABF.
We have had reports from members of the community who have received phone calls from an automated voice claiming to represent the ABF. The most recent scam claims the ABF is holding a parcel for them, and has a warrant for their arrest.
This is a scam. Do not follow the call instructions or call the number back. The scam has been referred to relevant authorities?.
What you should do
Hang up and report the call to ACCC Scamwatch. You should never give out personal details to a scammer.
Protect yourself from scammers
Always check that any government website link ends with '.gov.au'.
Only use secure websites to submit financial and identity information such as passport details.
