What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) published updated import conditions for the Mushrooms for propagation case on 17th February 2022.  This change requires all cartons and bags to be clearly labelled with the scientific name (genus and species) to verify linkages between the commodity and associated documentation. This change applies to all Mushroom for propagation pathways - fresh fruiting bodies, frozen spawn and/or cultures and spawn and/or cultures.

The department will vary all current and valid permits issued before 17 February 2022 to reflect this change.

Further information

The variation will not incur additional fees or charges.

Further communications to importers, specifying the date of the variation, will be progressed and managed to minimise disruption to goods currently in transit.
