MORATORIUM PERIOD

In response to the FTA advocacy for an appropriate moratorium period, the ABF has advised that all Section 77G Depots and Section 79 Warehouse staff have an extension of time to comply with the new WADSIC requirements as prescribed in Australian Customs Notice (ACN) 2022/46

FTA expects this period to be at least until the end of March 2023 - confirmation of this detail is expected in the following week.

FTA SOLUTION

As outlined in our member notice from 3 January 2023, FTA is pleased to advise that it has partnered with Inbound to provide an easy, cost-effective solution – a tamper proof WADSIC designed in strict accordance with the form approved by the Comptroller-General.

Inbound connects thousands of participants in licensed Sec 77G Depot and Sec 79 Warehouses around Australia through its technology platform - Inbound is therefore well placed to quickly provide industry with an easy way to procure compliant WADSICs.

WADSICs are a mandatory requirement for every person who is physically present and participating in any of the operations of the licensed place. The WADSIC must be issued to them by the licence holder. Using Inbound's automated WADSIC card process will ensure members are compliant with these statutory provisions as prescribed in licensing conditions 45 and 46 of ACN 2022/46,

Inbound / FTA WADSIC cost $49.50 (incl GST) each
