Australia-UK FTA to commence 31 May 2023 - Further updates at upcoming FTA CPD events

In what was precision timing earlier today, Susan Danks (Head of Customs & Regulatory Compliance – FTA/APSA) received a call from the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) during our first customs broker CPD Border Compliance Program event for the year advising the start date of the Australia-UK FTA (A-UKFTA) will be 31 May 2023.

Over the last five (5) years, Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have been privileged to have engagement with the past and current trade minister and DFAT executives. Furthermore, we would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the British High Commissioner, Her Excellency Vicki Treadell CMG, MVO (pictured left below with APSA chair, Olga Harriton) and senior advisors for their direct engagement on key aspects of the agreement.   To that end, we refer to today's ABC commentary Australia-UK free trade agreement to take effect within weeks, relaxing visa rules and scrapping tariffs and interview recording with Her Excellency Vicki Treadell - refer HERE
