As Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) members will recall from November 2022, the full bench of the Fair Work Commission (FWC) suspended all industrial action between Svitzer Australia and unions for a period of six (6) months.
In what is encouraging news, advice has been received today from Svitzer Australia that they have reached an in-principle agreement with the three maritime unions for a proposed, new National Towage Enterprise Agreement and are now preparing for a vote on that agreement. The ballot opens on Thursday 8 June and closes on Saturday 10 June. Svitzer has provided a commitment to advise of the outcomes of the vote as soon as it is available and appropriate to do so.Further notices:Svitzer Australia - 6 month suspension Protected Industrial Action – UPDATE 12Svitzer Lock Out - Implications for Insurers and SuppliersPaul Zalai interview with Ross Greenwood Sky NewsBREAKING NEWS - LOCKOUT OF TUG CREWS WILL NOT PROCEEDSvitzer Australia - FWC Hearing remains in progress – UPDATE 11Svitzer Australia - Maritime Unions temporarily suspend industrial action – UPDATE 10Svitzer Australia - Fair Work Commission hearing deferred – UPDATE 9Svitzer Australia - Fair Work Commission hearing today – UPDATE 8Svitzer Australia - Fair Work Commission steps in to review lockout – UPDATE 7Svitzer Australia - drastic measure to lockout all crews - UPDATE 6Svitzer Australia - Protected Industrial Action - UPDATE 5Svitzer Australia - Protected Industrial Action - UPDATE 4Svitzer Australia - Protected Industrial Action - UPDATE 3Svitzer Australia - Protected Industrial Action - UPDATE 2Svitzer Australia Industrial Action Update for Customers & Stakeholders - 9 November Tom Jensen - Head of International Freight & Logistics - FTA / APSA
