PROPOSED CHANGES TO CUSTOMS BROKER LICENSING CONDITIONS

Friday, September 8, 2023

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has commenced their second round of industry consultation on customs broker licensing conditions with an updated list of proposed amendments to existing conditions and creation of new conditions.

A summary provided by the ABF is available HERE

To the credit of the ABF, the summary poses a series of specific questions with responses to be used to complete their internal policy and legal review.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) note that key feedback from our preliminary submission has been incorporated into the revised summary, however, it is evident that a need exists to escalate advocacy on other important changes.

To support this process, it is requested that members provide views direct to me at smilici@FTAlliance.com.au by 23 September 2023 for incorporation into the FTA submission, or alternatively, direct to the ABF by completing the below word document and emailing to brokers.licensing@abf.gov.au by 30 September 2023.
