Importantly, these events coincide with today's official launch of the Australian Government report Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040, developed by Mr Nicholas Moore AO (Special Envoy for Southeast Asia).
The Special Envoy public report is expected to be available on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) website in coming days. In the interim, Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and APSA have received a summary including an outline of the key recommendations - refer HERE The strategy sets out a practical pathway to increase Australia's two-way trade and investment with Southeast Asia; a centre of global activity and business, and one of the fastest-growing regions in the world. The strategy outlines how Australia can seize the vast opportunities our diverse and vibrant region presents. It also describes what Australia can offer our region, as a trusted and reliable partner.
In addition, as a part of our executive engagement at departmental and federal government levels, we are delighted to advise Senator the Hon Don Farrell (Minister for Trade and Tourism) will provide a further trade update as a foreword to the upcoming edition of our Across Borders publication.
We look forward to ongoing collaboration with the Asian Shippers Alliance, DFAT, state / federal ministers and the Special Envoy to progress a series of trade facilitation initiatives and to report on business opportunities for FTA, APSA and partnered peak industry association members.
