Qantas Freight Operational Update 3

Tuesday, October 3, 2023

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has again been in contact with Qantas management over the ongoing delays as members continue to express their concerns and frustrations over the delays with issues continuing.

Qantas have as a result released another update today at 3:30pm AEDT:

Additional staff are supporting the operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane terminals as we process freight as quickly as possible. A large proportion of the import backlog was collected over the last 72 hours, however due to the long weekend, some customers were unable to arrange collection.

Our team is contacting all remaining customers with import freight still in our warehouse to arrange collection times, and our terminals are operating extended hours to assist.

Export freight is moving through our terminals as we rebook impacted freight on the next available services.

We apologise for the ongoing issues relating to visibility of freight online and via notifications which we know is critical.

Weekly invoices may be impacted during this period.

The full update from Qantas with further information is available via the Qantas Freight website HERE.

Qantas management advise that phone call wait times are well over an hour at present, therefore to help with communication Qantas have requested for any non-critical time-sensitive and non-vulnerable shipments enquiries to instead be made via email to freightcustomerservice@qantas.com.au which is being monitored.

Further updates as they come to hand will be available on our website HERE
