The Australian Border Force (ABF) have published ACN 2023/43 providing clarification in relation to "differences between the Certificate of Origin (COO) and the information reported to the ABF via the Integrated Cargo System (ICS)"
The guidance provided by ACN 2023/43 includes:
- HS Code on the COO compared with the Tariff Classification on an import declaration
- Origin Criteria on the COO
- Exporter and Importer Name and Details, Description of Goods or Quantity
- Compliance approach
Given the general and broad application of the advice in the ACN, the view of ABF is that it is no longer necessary to maintain the Guidance on minor errors or discrepancies on COO obtained for FTAs
