Qantas Freight Operational Update 16

Monday, October 16, 2023

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) continues to engage with Qantas Freight senior management in relation to the ongoing issues.
Qantas Freight have today provided the following update as at
1200 AEDT 16 October

Over the weekend of 14 - 15 Oct 2023, the extra resources on hand in our Melbourne and Sydney terminals, together with offshore support to assist with data matching, has resulted in further backlog clearance which has led to more import freight being collected. We appreciate the patience and support from our customers and the flexibility being shown to arrange collection over the weekend which may be outside their usual collection periods.

Our target remains to have all import backlogs cleared in Sydney by 19 Oct 2023 and Melbourne by 21 Oct 2023 and we're on track to meet both dates. In Brisbane, we're back to business as usual, processing all new imports within normal timeframes.

We're still focused on tracking and processing of some freight which arrived during the initial cutover phase in late Sep 23. A reminder that tracking information available online may be inaccurate and we will be contacting customers as soon as this older freight has been located, processed and reconciled.

We're working on all impacted invoices and will be updating customers later this week with more details on expected invoice release dates.

The vast majority of exports and tranships have also been uplifted with a small number of freight items still experiencing minor delays with rebooking.
