Victorian Commercial Ports - Voluntary Code of Practice (VCoP)

Monday, October 16, 2023

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) attended the Ports Industry Roundtable hosted by the Port of Melbourne on 12 October 2023 where The Hon Melissa Horne MP, Minister for Ports and Freight, released the Voluntary Code of Practice (VCoP).

The full VCoP is available HERE.

The VCoP is the result of the 2022 Victorian Government announcement to develop the VCoP in consultation with the Container Storage Working Group – FTA/APSA being an active participant of this working group.

The VCoP provides a roadmap for navigating disruptions in the landside freight supply chain in the Port of Melbourne and establishes a set of guiding principles and possible response actions that industry may consider when preparing response plans during times of unforeseen disruption in the container supply chain.

Further information can be found on the Victoria State Government Department of Transport & Planning website HERE.
