Declaring Delivery Address and Rural Tailgate Requirements

Thursday, December 7, 2023

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has been engaged with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (the department) over the past few months in obtaining commentary and consensus on the correct delivery address to be declared on Formal Import Declarations following the publication of the Autumn 2023 Goods Compliance Update.

The department has issued Industry Advice Notice 263-2023. The notice clarifies the requirements when declaring FCL/X consignments and declaring rural destination concerns.

This announcement from the department has been well-received, providing customs brokers with clarity to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. We extend our appreciation to both the department and ABF for their substantial engagement in this collaborative effort.
